Author Frequita Slade
Joining us for Black History Month public speaker and author of "Colored Girl", Frequita Slade will perform as "Anelsa" reading from her book of short stories and poems.
Anelsa uses the podium and the pen to explore the black experience and the human experience in all of its manifest forms. Dressed in period clothing, Anelsa takes her audiences back to a time when we were family, we were united, we had respect, and we loved each other; a time when we were at our best. A time when we were colored.
